It’s Me!

Hi friends!

Let me tell you a bit about myself.

I was born with aniridia and glaucoma. I have such a great group of friends and my sister to help me navigate life. I had family that also had aniridia, so I was able to learn to cope through them. I developed skills to overcome my lack of vision and I now have my own family and living my best life. I have worked various jobs including at the School for the Blind where I got to pass on my skills to other children that were learning to become independent.

I am currently “unemployeed” and I say that in quotations because I have various duties to fulfill. I’m a mom, a student, and I am taking on further tasks that will help a lot of other people in the end.

If you have any questions about me, feel free to ask and don’t forget to share your own stories with us.

I’m Stephanie

Hello! My name is Stephanie and it is great to meet you!! I am a mother and wife and I have many hobbies. I am also considered legally blind. I am part of the American Counsil for the Blind, I worked for the school for the blind in my state and I volunteer at a camp where we host many children with vision and hearing loss. I took ASL to better communicate with the deaf and I am doing what I can to understand the lives of other people with disabilities. I am working on a degree in Sports and Health Sciences and I am on a mission to create some gym-based changes for various disabilities. I would love any suggestions and input in order to make this happen. If you have any questions for me please do not hesitate to reach out. I would love to share your experiences as well so send me and email. Steph G
